The Big Give

What is The Big Give?

The Big Give is our church's annual Christmas tradition of living out the words of Jesus, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35). It's one day when we take up the biggest offering we can muster and give every bit of it away. Our goal for 2022 was to raise $250,000 and give all of it away, and thanks to your generosity and God's faithfulness...we passed our goal!!

Each year, we select organizations to partner with that impact our local community, our region, our nation, and the world. To read more about past and ongoing giving relationships at Aletheia, check out our partnerships page.

We're excited to watch our church grow in generosity throughout the year and can't wait to see what's next.

2022's international partnerships are growing!

ORPHANetwork is a local-church based relief ministry in Nicaragua. Since 2016, Aletheia's ongoing partnership through three local churches has helped to provide food, medical care, and gospel ministry to hundreds of children who--along with their families--have heard about Jesus with full stomachs and full hearts. In total, ORPHANetwork reaches 20,000+ vulnerable and orphaned children across Nicaragua, through the work of local churches and partner orphanages. Check out this video they sent to us this Fall, with messages from the very pastors that we support thanks to your generosity!

But wait, there's more!

As the Big Give grows every year, so does our capacity for impact! In 2022, we're partnering with a second international organization! African Havens is doing amazing work bringing “a hope and a future” to vulnerable women, children,  youth, and refugees of Johannesburg to see sustainable change in their lives and in the community, through empowerment and educational initiatives, safe houses and transitional housing, and much more.

Church-Planting with Every Nation

Our second giving opportunity is highlighting our longtime commitment to North-American Church-planting. Over the past 10 years, we’ve been able to help fund 10 church plants through the Big Give, but this year we’re doing something a little different: rather than partnering with one church plant, we’ll be joining Every Nation in coming alongside church plants that have found themselves in a hard spot due to covid. We’re excited to have the opportunity to show love to churches who launched just before or during the pandemic as they look to become self-sustaining. To do that, we’ll be working strategically with our broader family of churches within Every Nation to identify who needs our help. You can find out more about Every Nation's mission and commitment to church-planting HERE.

LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS

Finally, we are excited to partner with several local organizations within the Cambridge and Providence area.

  • The Boston Center for Pregnancy Choices: A local organization serving men and women facing unplanned pregnancies.
  • Fostering Hope New England: A ministry that empowers churches and individuals to care for children and families impacted by foster care, serving as a trusted partner to guide churches into sustainable service to the foster care community.
  • Refugee Ministry: We are hoping to raise the funds to sponsor a Ukrainian refugee family moving to Boston, in partnership with Catholic Charities and the Uniting for Ukraine program.
  • Mount Hope Community Center: Providing programs, services, resources and outreach to the Providence, RI area.

with one church plant, through Every Nation we hope to come alongside some of the church
plants that have found themselves in a hard spot due to covid. You may have heard that many
churches in America were forced to close their doors permanently due to the affects of covid.
While this has not been the case with any of our sister church plants, there are those who
launched their churches just before or during the pandemic that we would like to partner with
this year as they look to become self-sustaining. To do that, we’ll be working with our broader
family of churches called Every Nation to strategically help those we can through this offering.
